Responsibilities/Qualification

As the organizational expert in the electrical/electronics engineering field, plans, designs, produces and maintains a variety of highly complex electric or electronic components, apparatus and/or circuitry for use in electronic devices. Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted, conducts experimental tests and analyzes electronic equipment to establish production and operation controls.

Works directly with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in the planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions related to a program¿s system and technical product development. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of scientific principles and practices in broad areas across one or more technical disciplines.  Maintains a liaison role for technical matters with staff and customers, and acts independently on technical issues within his/her field of expertise.

Advises program managers on challenging technical issues, coordinates the use of senior technical resources across the organization on multi-disciplinary problems, and provides technical guidance and leadership to less-experienced engineers and other technical staff. Works within a peer group of senior technical staff to periodically review technical plans, results, and work products.

Performs complex and advanced engineering work in design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system development, engineering analysis and research for one or more programs.

Provides technical advisory and consulting expertise to programs and projects under development, acting as a recognized authority in the appropriate scientific field.  Provides engineering subject matter expertise, guidance and work leadership to technical staff and other internal groups. Serves as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.

Responsibilities Include:
• Leading a multidisciplinary engineering team designing complex embedded systems
• Designing firmware for FPGAs in VHDL
• Programming microcontrollers in C/C++
• Use of Xilinx’s Vivado toolset for FPGA design
• Development and implementation of signal processing algorithms
• Design, implementation, and test of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)s
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Xilinx development tools, including the Vivado design suite, IP Integrator, and HLS
• Experience in radar, EW, software defined radio, and electro-optical system design preferred
• Ability to work on multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and minimum 15 years of experience. Master's preferred.
• Security Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
