Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Position Summary

Looking for a junior engineer that wants to join a high-tech company working on research and prototyping projects for government customers. 

Under immediate supervision, supports the planning, design, production and maintenance of electric or electronic components, apparatus and/or circuitry for use in electronic devices. Conducts experimental tests and assists with analyzing electronic equipment to establish production and operation controls.

Supports senior technical personnel and project managers within his/her organization in various technical activities related to system and technical product development. Receives technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff. Must be able to work independently at times.

Duties and Responsibilities   

Applies standard technical concepts, techniques, and procedures to provide assistance to higher-level engineers in the development of technical products. Typically follows guidelines established by precedence. 

Performs basic engineering work in analysis, design, development, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of system and technical product development. Duties often include the collection of information and data, performance of various tests, and the development of technical documents. 

Has limited independent interaction with customers and typically provides input to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables under immediate supervision by more senior technical personnel.  

Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties. May provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems and applicable company procedures and guidelines. 

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree plus 0 to 2 years of related experience.  Degree must be in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Basic knowledge of engineering principals, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertise. 

Basic knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.

Basic internal team communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Experience with Matlab required.

Experience with C,C++.C#, or python desired.

Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor or other CAD program desired. 

Experience with arduino or other microprocessors desired.

Experience with robotics/autonomy desired.

Job will require a security clearnace within 1 year.
