Alion is seeking an Electronic Warfare Technician to support our Air Force Special Operations contract located at Robbins AFB.

The Electronic Warefare Technician:

  • Supports EW systems installed on Air Mobility Command (AMC) and AFSOC aircraft.
  • Provides technical expertise on EW system requirements, host aircraft performance and self-protection, radio Frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) threat capabilities and EW system performance against those threats, and all technical aspects of an EW system life-cycle including system acquisition, design, development, engineering, integration, testing, operation, performance, and documentation.
  • Develops and tests Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) software to detect, identify, and defeat threat systems faced by AFSOC, AMC, and ACC aircraft while performing world-wide mission tasks in uncertain and hostile operating environments.
  • Assists in developing requirements for updates of mission databases in line with assessed and validated threat parameter changes.
  • Assess RWR system effectiveness to include detailed threat studies and periodic review of RWR techniques.
  • Drafts and edits technical documentation including system descriptions, operator handbooks, manuals and PACER WARE messages.
  • Reviews technical intelligence data to determine impacts, extract appropriate parametric information and program RWR software to enhance mission effectiveness in threat environments worldwide.
  • Assists in test planning, performs RWR system tests in laboratory and field environments.
  • Performs testing and troubleshooting on fielded RWR systems.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in technical or flight-line role supporting reprogrammable EW systems such as:

  • ALQ-172
  • ALR-69/69A
  • APR-39
  • ALR-56M
  • Integrated Defensive Avionics [SAMS-ESA/AIECS; MC/AC-130J RFCM; SMP]
  • Security Clearance: Secret
  • H.S. Diploma
