Staff in this position provide a wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field and provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions.  We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with experience in embedded C/C++programming to create or improve mission-critical firmware and software. The candidate must have a proven track record in the development and analysis of system requirements, design, development, debugging, and testing of analog and digital systems. 

Embedded Software Engineer duties:

  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of core software. 
  • Research and analyze embedded low-level code, OS, machine-software interfaces.
  • Perform reverse engineering analysis of software.
  • Disassemble software using tools such as IDAPro.
  • Develop code using Machine, Assembly, C, C++ and Java.
  • Write scripts using Python or similar tools and develop proof-of-concept software.
  • Develop and document software, applications and other code using Agile practices.
  • Debug and test software using commercial debugging tools and in-circuit emulators.
  • Automated test software running on a variety of IT equipment and devices. Perform regression testing and build specialized tools, test setups and capabilities.
  • Maintain version control of software and documents using tools Subversion.
  • Demonstrate developed software and prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Execute complete embedded software development lifecycle. Create scalable and optimized software systems.
  • Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
  • Design, develop, code, test and debug system software.
  • Review code and design.


  • Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems


  • US Citizen with active Secret (or above) clearance
  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven track record of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment with multiple on-going tasks and work under deadlines.
  • 3-5 years of experience
