NGA Technical Lead

Alion Science & Technology is seeking an experienced, mission-focused engineering lead with a desire to lead multiple engineering teams in this high-visibility, broad cloud-based program with multiple senior stakeholders. Our work focuses on making migration to AWS successful for the Government—including both NGA and outside customers. Our projects include cutting edge cloud, data, and AI technologies.


  • Must possess TS/SCI clearance. A TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph is preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day technical team coordination and oversight of existing NGA contract and all sub-projects.
  • Single point of contact to the Government Requiring Authority (RA) and Government Product Owners for the overall engineering program management execution and all contractual activities.
  • Establishing and chairing required contractor systems engineering team venues and processes for overarching coordination across all engineering projects.
  • Maintain regular coordination with the ACOR and Government Product Owners, keeping them informed of relevant project related information especially risks and issues and the associated resolution plans and status.
  • Ensuring the timely execution of all engineering projects in accordance with contract requirements and per customer guidance and direction.
  • Recommend workforce requirements for the hiring/retaining of fully knowledgeable, experienced, certified and trained workforce to support and execute engineering contract requirements.
  • Ensuring technical deliverables, resolving technical challenges and deficiencies, supervising contractor engineering personnel, and communicating overarching government objectives and goals for the task orders to the engineering workforce.


  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or IT-related discipline
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a systems engineer or technical program manager managing a service type contract with a value over $50 million (M) per year.
  • Experience leading and supervising a multi-disciplinary technical staff of various levels.
  • Demonstrated 5 or more years of experience with management of NGA or IC Information Technology Enterprise (ITE) contracts or programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of NGA concepts and practices with regards to software development, integration, operations and maintenance.
  • Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership, and assertiveness skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to understand, track, drill-down and ask questions on activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data
  • Ability/willingness to travel
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing disparately located personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting briefings to senior customer management and customer stakeholders.


  • Experience in AWS C2S environment or other cloud technologies
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IdAM)
  • Experience with C2S and Integration and Data Science
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs delivering technologically complex solutions.
