Position Summary

Provides lead technical support in the areas of and performs routine electronics laboratory tasks and maintenance for systems/software in the laboratory, performs validation and verification of software performance to design specifications and conducts reliability analysis and trend identification. 

Duties and Responsibilities          

•         Performs and leads staff in performing testing assignments which are generally standardized and follows prescribed work methods or precise instructions.

•         From available documentation, maintains a thorough working knowledge of the hardware, operating systems, and programming languages available on the computer systems being used in the laboratory and is able to provide guidance to less experienced personnel.

•         Able to set-up, update and maintain systems and operations documentation to reflect program and operational changes and enhancements.

•         Finalizes system test and evaluation plans, including design/module testing, reliability testing, and user acceptance testing.

•         Using current guidelines and standards, performs analysis, design, coding, debugging, and testing for software development tasks.

•         Operates standard experimental testing equipment of moderate complexity and performs routine laboratory and equipment maintenance.  Adheres to QA/QC requirements in the performance of job duties.

•         Maintains inventory in warehouse. Receives packages and keeps accurate counts on equipment and consumable items.

•         Observes testing, records test data and may assist in the preparation of routine reports. Files completed test reports.

•         Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering.

•         Performs computer data entry and record management activities.

•         Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.

•         Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

•         High school diploma or equivalent plus any combination of work experience or college education equivalent to 10 years.

•         In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

•         Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

•         Knowledge of various Operating Systems (OS) desired.

•         Knowledge of the procedures used in electronics and/or software testing.

•         Knowledge of laboratory and experimental procedures and ability to apply this knowledge in performing assigned laboratory tasks.

Must be a US Citizen and have an active SECRET Clearance at employment.
