Job Description

The Enterprise Architect will be part of the Alion Team which is supporting AFRL/SBT through the DoD Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) process.  The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/SBT) ensures that Air Force science and engineering activities promote the transfer and/or exchange of technology with state and local governments, academia and industry to create jobs, improve productivity and increase competitiveness, while supporting the Air Force mission.  AFRL/SBT is migrating/developing a Technology Transfer Tracking System from NASA to the Air Force.  This migration requires the execution of the Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) process.

The Enterprise Architect will provide expertise related to BCAC Phase 1 through 4 including Need Identification, Business Solution Analysis, Business System Functional Requirements & Acquisition Planning, and Business System Acquisition Testing & Deployment.  Specific requirements include:

  • Demonstrated communication skills (written & oral) to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders (technical & business);
  • Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques;
  • Ability to plan and organize in a complex, fast-paced environments;
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude and enthusiastic;
  • Solicit, understand, and document the client’s business requirements, processes and workflows;
  • Analyzes system requirements and assist in design and development activities;
  • Evaluates, develops, and delivers Business Use Case (as-is), Business Use Case (to-be), business process flow diagrams, and value streams;
  • Perform Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) which supports the Problem Statement including the performance measures;
  • Create DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)  support artifacts that align with the business requirements for both BCAC and to support Clinger-Cohen Act (CCA) compliance;
  • Gather requirements and help build and document specifications for development;
  • Be responsible for interaction with clients including eliciting client user stories;
  • Conduct gap analysis between current solution and customer requirements;
  • Work with the clients to demonstrate the changes for system needs;
  • Be a United States citizen;
  • B.S. in a STEM areas; M.S. preferred;
  • Secret clearance is desired.
