We are seeking a talented, energetic and bright individual to join our team to: manage the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulations management team for single or multiple facilities. Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety) within the company. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies. Oversee the preparation of contracts for properly licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling. Develop and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. May serve as point of contact for emergency personnel.  May have a managing role in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics. Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.  Monitor performance of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and regulatory compliance with all federal and state regulations and handles all contact with government agencies. Other responsibilities may include regulatory interpretation, planning, auditing, and information systems evaluation and implementation.

ESSENTIAL SAFETY DUTIES:
• Lead the development and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety compliance programs for the company.
• Provide Safety Training and Instructions, Coaching, Consultation, and Technical support to Operations.
• Manage Safety Committee by developing and maintenance of safety plans in compliance with the client’s expectations and Alion’s best practices.
• Manage the resolution process of safety and health issues as they arise, via analysis, benchmarking, risk management and regulatory compliance (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
• Provide behavior based safety techniques to Leadership and Associates as part of an overall Safety Culture.
• Maintain injury record keeping in accordance with local, state and federal regulation.
• Manage the overall accident investigation and reporting process.
• Interpret, advise, recommend, and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
• Broad knowledge of applicable state and federal safety laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in a safety related field)
• 10+ years of experience with directly managing or supporting a formal health and safety program.
• Professional designations: CSP, CIH, or OSHA 30 preferred
• Working knowledge of PC, and Microsoft Office Programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Travel required (50% to 75%)
