Position Summary

The Environmental Laboratory QA Manager handlesall activities involving quality assurance, quality control, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.  Position is based in Corvallis, OR


  • Conduct audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation and maintains accreditation.
  • Formulates and maintains the laboratory Quality Management Plan, QA/QC reports, SOPs, SOG, and QAPPs.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced QA/data review staff

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related scientific discipline, and 5 years of experience in an environmental laboratory, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
  • direct experience managing Quality programs of a similar nature.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of NELAC Institute standards.
  • Must be US Citizen; no sponsorship available.
  • Proficient in environmental laboratory QA/QC practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in quality assurance.
  • Extensive experience performing Environmental Laboratory data validation and conducting laboratory audits in accordance with EPA national and regional protocols, and reviewing QA plans, analytical methods, and SOPs.
  • Requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communications skills; ability to staff.         
  • Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong team player with the ability to both collaborate and to take initiative and work well independently
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet stringent deadlines
