Responsibilities/Qualification

SUMMARY:

We're looking for a F-35 Logistics Acquisition Analyst to fill one of our requirements supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office in Crystal City, VA.  The F-35 is the premier fighter aircraft on/above the planet and this is an opportunity to work with some of the brightest and most talented acquisition professionals and military officers in the world.  We're building this aircraft for the US Air Force, US Navy and the US Marines as well as numerous international partners and customers.  The program has solid support from our government and the governments of our partners so it is a very secure environment where  you can spend many years working on different portions of the program while remaining with Alion.

The F-35 Logistics Acquisition Analyst provides acquisition support by researching complex acquisition requirements, performing market surveys for potential procurement avenues, and analyzing proposals for applicability to stated functional needs. Works with program engineers to determine procurement strategies to effectively meet program needs in accordance with cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

DUTIES:
Conducts life cycle acquisition tracking, including data entry, file maintenance, and data retrieval and reporting functions. 

Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, coordinating and compiling a wide range of Team and individual IPT inputs to Sustainment Documentation and Data.

F-35 Sustainment Policy activities. Manages Logistics and Sustainment and policy data and databases and data management systems. Supports Community of Practice, IPT and LM hosted meetings, teleconferences and Sustainment Advisory Group Boards. Updates and maintains Sustainment Policy and Planning documentation.

Coordinate working level effort for completion, agreement, and approval of developed and documented procedures, and establish a controlled structure :for all applicable documents for Logistics & Sustainment Policy Integration Teams. Assists in assessing and addressing Service policy gaps. 

Supports the development of Sustainment Plans and Policies. Coordinate reviews and provide technical insight into the development of the overarching strucrural documentation to include Strategy, Logistics and Sustainment Instructions, policy and F-35 Program Directives. 

Participates in all Logistics & Sustainment Policy Integration Team meetings . Assists in organizing and actively participates in numerous working group meetings, action groups, panels and teams as directed by the Deputy. 

Compose/update documents and presentations and design/build management products using all Microsoft (MS) Office products and other applications as required. These include, but are not limited to, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project and Primavera.

Uses complex quantitative analytical techniques to assess system acquisition process issues and develops risk reduction/mitigation approaches for improving acquisition/program planning, control, and execution.

Prepares documentation, reports, and project plans to describe activities planned and accomplished, status reports, letters, memoranda, messages, and contact reports.

Prepares and presents formal briefings and staff seminars.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 5 to 7 years of directly related experience in a government contracting environment. Master’s degree preferred.

Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

Strong knowledge of government or other contracting environment relating to technical, scientific and analytic services, and identification of new business opportunities.

Ability to apply knowledge of the defense acquisition process to support customers in the analysis and improvement of acquisition process policy and procedures.
