Job Description



We're looking for a F-35 Planning and Integration Acquisition Analyst Senior, to fill one of our requirements supporting the F-35 Joint Program Office in Crystal City, VA. The F-35 is the premier fighter aircraft on/above the planet and this is an opportunity to work with some of the brightest and most talented acquisition professionals and military officers in the world. We're building this aircraft for the US Air Force, US Navy and the US Marines as well as numerous international partners and customers. The program has solid support from our government and the governments of our partners so it is a very secure environment where you can spend many years working on different portions of the program while remaining with Alion.

This Senior Acquisition Analyst will provide acquisition support by researching complex acquisition requirements, performing market surveys for potential procurement avenues, and analyzing proposals for applicability to stated functional needs. Will work with program engineers to determine procurement strategies to effectively meet program needs in accordance with cost, schedule, and technical requirements.


Provide Program Management technical support of the Sustainment elements of the Program Master Plan / Integrated Master Schedule and provide expertise in the area of project management and business administration tools. Specifically support in developing processes and products and establishing management controls for all aspects relevant to F-35 Program Office Sustainment Projects and Activities in support of the PMP/IMS and related Sustainment plans and policies

Provide insight and coordination of Logistics and Sustainment Teams in their management of sustainment related risk and issues

Uses complex quantitative analytical techniques to assess system acquisition process issues and develops risk reduction/mitigation approaches for improving acquisition/program planning, control, and execution.

Supports customers in the analysis and improvement of acquisition process policy and procedures.

Prepares documentation, reports, and project plans to describe activities planned and accomplished, status reports, letters, memoranda, messages, and contact reports.

Prepares and presents formal briefings and staff seminars.


Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 6 years of directly related experience in a government contracting environment. Master’s degree preferred.

An additional four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. An Associate's Degree plus two (2) additional years of directly related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.


Ability to apply knowledge of the defense acquisition process to support customers in the analysis and improvement of acquisition process policy and procedures.

Understanding of DoD planning programming budgeting and execution processes

Experience in project management PERT/Gant methods and tools such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera desired.

Comprehensive Program / Project Management knowledge and experience in defense acquisition.
Experience in acquisition and/or operational logistics support/maintenance engineering.

Experience must include: at least 4 years supervising/directing/leading others. 

Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform independent work to provide logistics and support system

effectiveness analysis, studies, and evaluation in support of DoD weapons systems and equipment.


Secret security clearance required.
