Job Description


Prepares both short- and long-range maintenance planning documents, goals, and management objectives. Develops performance management tools such as strategic and annual work plans, project reporting systems, maintenance management programs, inventories, task descriptions, cyclic maintenance programs, utilities, etc. Determines program emphasis and management priorities, allocates/reallocates resources including funding, labor, and equipment according to management needs. Shall oversee subcontractors services if required. Works under general supervision and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor/Lead Chemist.

Assures the optimal functionality of the unit including:
_ General engine maintenance of vehicles and generators
_ Routine and schedule maintenance of all vehicles and trailers to maintain road worthiness
_ Mob/de-mob of vehicles to and from remote sites
_ Vehicle electrical system maintenance (UPS, AC/DC charging system, DC power system, shore power hookup, external/internal lighting systems)
_ General upkeep of exterior /interior of vehicles i.e.: awnings, paint, lights, bumpers, mirrors, windows, wipers, storage bays, entrance steps, etc.         
_ Utility System maintenance
_ Water system_ Electrical systems
_ Gas Distribution Systems
_ Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC)
_ Communications Systems
_ Security system
_ Fume hoods and ventilated enclosures
_ Safety Systems


Requires at least 5 years of experience in laboratory facilities services. Knowledge of, and skill in applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment and facility operations for multi-faceted and complex buildings.

Knowledge of trades, building management functions and the interrelationships between building operations, building management and support to the customers' mission. Knowledge of various system control and data acquisition systems used to control building systems.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Certificate upon hire.
