Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Under immediate supervision, assist analysts in developing plans, schedules and reports to meet contractual requirements for a portion of a program. This internship is for risnig college seniors in college.


Duties and Responsibilities          

  • Performs routine administrative, financial analysis work in support of the Program Executive Officer Ships Fleet Support, Director of Business and Finance (SEA 21P), Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.
  • In support of financial management, performs professional administrative, financial analysis work of an introductory nature gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility.
  • Performs basic office tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning of budget and execution data.
  • Assists senior level staff with various financial functions to support maintenance of spreadsheets, financial databases, and reports as required.
  • Assists in arranging meetings, conferences, and project team activities.
  • Performs basic word processing assignments and data entry using database applications.
  • Prepares routine reports and creates various documents and electronic information with direction.
  • Creates graphs and charts for various projects using spreadsheet and graphics software with direction.
  • May be required to help with research to support financial management projects and other objectives.
  • May support staff in financial management based work and/or manage administrative, trade or occupational projects.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must currently be enrolled as a student in an accredited public or private college or university and be a rising senior in their academic field of study.
  • Skilled in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent administrative, organization and communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be diligent, hardworking and able to work in a professional office environment.
  • Desires to gain professional experience and eagerness to learn.
