Job Description



Responsibilities/Qualification

  • Provides project setup support consistently across Alion.
  • Populate and maintain our Jamis financial system with accurate contract funding awarded.
  • Evaluate contract requirements – Overtime, Travel, Labor – Education/Experience Requirements, etc.,
  • Ensures project setup is in accordance with the awarded contract and DCAA requirements.
  • Communicates directly with Project Control, Project Managers, Contracts and Billing staffs.
  • Works with Line Finance Groups to understand the JAMIS setup impact to project control.
  • Briefs new contract awards
  • Enter all contract modifications/amendments
  • Update all period of performance changes
  • Update all changes to contract, delivery order, and ACRN ceiling/funding values
  • Populate labor category and/or T&M rate updates or changes

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 5 to 7 years of directly related experience preferably in a government-contracting environment.  Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Possess a level of familiarity and knowledge of contracts structures
  • High level of understanding of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and strong proficiency using Excel.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as, in team environment with the capability to complete work in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Ability to demonstrate good customer service
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Quick learner and problem solver
  • Strong analysis capability
  • Government contracting environment (2+ years) with good working knowledge of CP, FFP and T&M contract type
  • Good working knowledge in government cost accounting, indirect burdens, revenue and fee (basically the building blocks of Gov’t accounting)
  • Enjoys working in a finance and accounting environment
  • Experience with SQL is a plus
  • Experience with project financials / project cost analyst is a plus
  • Good in spreadsheets and can perform advanced functions (macros, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Experience performing job set-up in with CostPoint, JAMIS or other ERP / Accounting systems is a plus
  • Experience in writing queries is also a plus but not a requirement
