Responsibilities/Qualification

 

MacAulay-Brown, Inc., an Alion Company is looking for a Flight Manual Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Strike Systems Program Office located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.  The candidate must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience with the following:

  • Developing, updating, and managing USAF flight manuals.
  • Strong experience implementing the Tech Orders (TO) Lifecycle process for developing flight manuals, performance manuals, and weapons release manuals for a weapon system.
  • Experience verifying technical orders, to include flight manuals.
  • Full understanding and meet the requirements of AFI 11-215, USAF Flight Manual Program.
  • Experience in the development of flight manual data using S1000D, International Specification for Technical Publications using a common source database is highly desirable.
  • Experience creating and updating technical orders and flight manuals.
  • Ability to support all aspects of the USAF's Main Operating Base stand-up process.
  • Support development, review, and coordination of logistics support documentation including Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Technical Orders (TOs), Training Coursework and Manuals, and technical data products.
  • Support the Depot Source of Repair process, the TO Data Conference, technical data reviews, and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) tasks.
  • DoD work experience with no less than five (5) years’ experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last five (5) years.
  • A BA/BS degree in logistics, management, engineering, or science/math is required. A Master of Arts/Master of Science (MA/MS) degree in any of these disciplines is highly desired.
  • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are typically identified as recognized Industry leaders for a given area of expertise. SMEs typically perform the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
