An HBSS Sr Systems Engineer is required to support the Navy’s Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).  The candidate selected must have excellent knowledge in general systems administration and network architectures as well as experience configuring, supporting and maintaining medium to large scale HBSS implementations.  The HBSS Engineer will work for the Cyber Security division lead and will work in conjunction with the rest of the HBSS team for all technical changes, upgrades or modifications.  The HBSS architecture for each network will be meticulously diagrammed and documented for configuration management purposes. 


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline and 5-7 yrs of experience, or equivalent education and experience.  In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 9 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

• 3 + years of experience in systems administration in either a Microsoft Windows or RedHat Enterprise Linux environment with 4 years of experience operating HBSS
• Must possess an understanding of HBSS operations and technologies.
• Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Must stay abreast of industry developments and applicable Government regulations.
• Must be able to perform audits, operational analysis and risk assessments.
• Must be capable of researching and developing proposals for recommended service enhancements.
• Researches operational issues and providing mitigation recommendations
• Be able to develop local policies and procedures that align with DoD and DoN policies and industry best practices
• Must be able to develop standard operating procedures and architecture diagrams.
• Needs strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgment and self-motivation.
• Works independently with little to no supervision researching new technologies or comparing technologies to meet the customers need while providing an unbiased opinion.
• Ability to read and digest technical information
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems
• Strong attention to detail
•Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
•Must have or be able to obtain Security+ and HBSS certifications

Must currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
