Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Positions Summary

The Director of Human Capital Operations is responsible for aligning the business objectives with employees and management across the company. The Director consults with management on all HC related issues including compliance, recruiting, retention and engagement, employee relations, benefits, compensation, change management, and training and development. Selects, directs, trains, develops and mentors a professional staff in these areas. Works closely with the Corporate Compensation Manager, the Recruiting Director, and the Benefits Director to deliver comprehensive, value-added service to management and employees.

Works with the Senior Vice President of Human Capital on the development and implementation of Human Capital policies, practices and procedures.

Works with recruiters and line management to determine staffing needs and hire qualified candidates.

Assists the Corporate Benefits Manager in the administration and provision of corporate benefits plans for employees, ensuring benefits are supplied and communicated to eligible employees.

Assists the Corporate Payroll Manager with the ongoing maintenance of an effective and accurate payroll and HRIS for all employees that complies with all laws and regulations and pays employees accurately and timely.

Administers corporate compensation policies and practices that continue to attract and retain a highly qualified workforce of managers, high level professionals and support staff necessary to accomplishing the goals of the organization with guidance from the Corporate Compensation Manager.

Manages and provides for the resolution of employees' relations issues, ensures EEO/AA/OFCCP compliance and the provision of all HC services ensuring corporate policy, goals and objectives are satisfied.

Implements policies and strategies for deploying expatriates abroad and/or the employment of foreign nationals.

Directs the professional staff necessary to carry out these functions.

Provides management with direct consultation on Human Capital issues.

Serves on various management/advisory committees as required.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 12 years progressive experience in industrial and government-related human capital; or Master’s degree and nine years of experience.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Experience should be progressive, of increasing difficulty and responsibility. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.    

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations to all levels of professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to develop new and innovative HC processes and procedures
  • SPHR certification preferred.
