The Human Capital Generalist will assist with the performance of Human Resources functions including recruitment, staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, AA/EEO compliance, and international assignment policy for the corporation to ensure Alion has comprehensive and integrated functions in these areas that contribute to the growth and profitability of Alion.  Provides basic administration of human resources function and assists with providing day to day consultation with line management on all related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with the performance of Human Capital functions including recruitment, staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, AA/EEO compliance, and international assignment policy for the corporation to ensure Alion has comprehensive and integrated functions in these areas that contribute to the growth and profitability of Alion.  Provides basic administration of human capital function and assists with providing day to day consultation with line management on all related issues.

Assists with the implementation and administration of business group HC activities to effectively meet strategic goals and objectives.

Assists in ensuring the ongoing maintenance of an effective and accurate payroll and HRIS for all employees.

Works with other members of HC staff to ensure EEO/AA/OFCCP compliance and the provision of all HC services.

Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite with strong knowledge in Excel

Must be proficient in HRIS solution, PeopleSoft experience preferred

Must be able to multitask with attention to detail and honor deadlines

Must have good time management skills

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must have good presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate will be able to manage high volume of Human Capital administrative tasks relative to various HC functions to include recruiting, payroll processes, and compensation processes.

Must be able to review and interpret organizational policies effectively to new employees

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Proficiency with record retention and file management preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 2 years experience in industrial and government-related human resources.

PHR Certification preferred.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 6 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
