Job Description



Responsibilities/Qualification

Alion is seeking a Mid-Level Program Analyst to provide clerical and administrative support to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering

(OUSD(R&E)) Business Operations Office.  The candidate must have the ability to provide administrative support for meetings, correspondence, and gathering background information to support the areas of Science & Technology, military reservists, facility space management, personnel management, and security.



Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the maintenance of the OUSD(R&E) manpower roster, phone rosters and space allocations; capturing and maintaining OUSD(R&E) physical space allocations to ensure R&E requirements are documented, and develop a strategy and plan to ensure R&E is able to optimize the physical placement of the directorates and offices to ensure the efficient operation of the entire group.

  • Assisting with the tracking and approval of R&E government travel; preparing travel budget requests, reports, and coordinating transfers of funds into and out of travel accounts; monitoring completion of US and international travel requirements for R&E personnel; serve as a back-up to the travel coordinators. 

  • Monitoring due dates and status of Active duty and Reserve personnel performance reports and award packages; assisting Active Duty and Reserve personnel in identifying/satisfying any required DoD-related training.

  • Producing the Reserve Monthly Activity Report (MAR) and Monthly Operational Report (MOR).

  • Assisting in developing R&E’s annual requirement for Joint Reserve Directorate (JRD) support (man-days, Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW) from each Service and forwarding requirements through appropriate channels; participating/facilitating/organizing OSD and Service events related to the JRD.

  • Creating and maintaining a data base of all office tasking (both internal and external) and upcoming personnel changes.



Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in providing Mid-Level Administrative Assistant support is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. At the discretion of the Government, specialized experience which includes military or private Administrative Assistant experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and mastery of Microsoft Excel and Access is highly desired to support manpower and space projects.

  • Background of support in, or for, the Air Force Active Duty or Reserves is highly desired.
