Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) and other required security documentation.
  • Experience with evaluating Information Assurance (IA) compliance of a system against current RMF and DoD Cybersecurity policies
  • Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
  • Manages Inter-service Connection Agreements (ISA) for deployed systems. 
  • Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for cybersecurity using applicable tools.
  • Identify, download, analyze, test, and implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for system components and capabilities.
  • Participates in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits and provides recommendations for application design.
  • Performs analysis at many levels of total system product, including: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
  • Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
  • Helps to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cybersecurity architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends.
  • Participates in the creation and enforcement of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures). Maintains documentation, procedures and working instructions in accordance with federal and departmental guidelines.
  • Reviews logs and reports and interprets the implications. Participates in investigations into problematic activity and devises plans for appropriate resolution.
  • Provides technical support to organizational programs and projects in area of expertise.
  • Conducts research on existing systems and makes design improvement recommendations.
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, and other principles of scientific and economic disciplines in determining solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Desired:  Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience or Master's degree with 12 years.
  • Prior experience with DIACAP and/or RMF accreditation within the DoD
  • Appropriate CSSP certification per DoD 8570.01-M for CSSP Analyst and CSSP Incident Responder categories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An active secret security clearance is required.
