We are seeking an information management professional in Herndon, VA to provide direct support to the Government in the area of organizing and maintaining records of national and international satellite registration and coordination documents with the ability to learn basics of RF satellite communication.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position requires highly developed organization and communications skills with the ability to learn basics of satellite communications systems (link budgets and orbital mechanics). Strong people skills are required with the ability to work with diverse groups and mid-level government personnel. The specific duties include:
- Tracking and maintaining national and international satellite network registrations through the registration processes to include updating spreadsheets and databases as information arrives, scanning documents, logging and tracking progress of documents through the registration process
- Preparing new national and international satellite network registrations by taking information provided by others and inputting into software templates.
- Writing and reviewing correspondence from the International Telecommunications Union and other administrations, tracking and logging the correspondence
- Tracking and maintaining records from satellite network coordination meetings to include updating databases and spreadsheets
- Using analytic tools as required
- Written and oral reporting of results
- Travel approximately perhaps once or twice a year to support Government meetings outside the Washington DC area (some foreign travel may be necessary)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Math, Engineering or another related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Professional software applications
- Strong people skills and ability to work with a diverse groups and mid-level government personnel
Preferred Additional Skills
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance is required; Current TS/SCI SSBI is a strong plus
- Understanding of radio link budgets and orbital mechanics
- Familiarity with the ITU Radio Regulations and U.S. regulations is a plus
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
