Position Summary:

The NCTE installation engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, building and maintenance of an information systems infrastructure of NCTE equipment at host sites throughout the United States and selected international locations. The installation engineer will be required to perform maintenance of data systems, which include servers, storage, designs, applications, databases and networks, interpret installation design plans (CAD drawings), and implement the installation according to those plans, making local modifications where required. Additionally, the Installation engineer will ensure that NCTE Installations are completed in a timely, consistent, high quality, and professional manner. The Installation engineer is expected to work alongside the installation team leader to complete all tasking on time, and to take a primary role in terminating fiber optic and CAT 6 cable, assisting in the installation and relocation of equipment, and in minor configuration tasks. Performs routine IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs in support of one or more functional areas such as materials and/or logistics. Finally, the Installation engineer must ensure that all installations are completed in accordance with relevant Navy instructions and security directives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software.

Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.

Assists in implementing projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.

Participates in the planning, designing, acquiring and implementing of telecommunications voice/wire systems.

Provides routine support to employees and monitors, supports and troubleshoots basic infrastructure issues.

Coordinates with internal and external vendors.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Good coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities.

Works well individually or in a group setting.

Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.


Bachelor's Degree plus 0-2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of experinence and education.


Must be a US Citizen, with a Secret security clearance.
