Responsibilities/Qualification

 

Position Summary

The GCCS-M Training Instructor provides instructional curriculum development, training, planning documentation, classroom instruction, system administration, software, and LAN engineering support services for GCCS-M training at Navy Information Warfare Center Pacific.

The GCCS-M Training Instructor reports to the GCCS-M Training Manager.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

•         Provide to the GCCS-M Training Manager or equivalent, instructional proficiency in GCCS-M Systems Administration courses covering all platforms utilized by the various   

          commands serviced by this contract

•         Create, maintain, and provide Government-owned curriculum, regardless of media, in performance of this contract.

•         Serve as the Curriculum Development Manager (CDM) in determining the needs, criteria, and justification for additional and/or enhancements to current course curriculum

•         Prepare and provide draft documentation to support course development

•         Develop and provide completed curricula to the established course development timelines

•         Provide weekly status updates in the provided format to the GCCS-M Training Manager or equivalent

•         Identify any impact, problem, change, or adjustment to established course development timelines to the GCCS-M Training Manager or equivalent

•         Prepare appropriate documentation to support recommendations, evaluations, test results, and reports as described in AETCI 36-2641, Technical and Basic Military Training 

          Development, any supplements, or in the format provided by the GCCS-M Training Manager or equivalent

•         Set up and maintain training environment including equipment.

•        Conduct and/or facilitate complex technical training courses for end-users

•        Select appropriate training aids

•        Prepare lesson plans relevant to training material

•        Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, course evaluations and program effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement

•        Investigates and recommends methods for class design and delivery

•        Interface with training developers, subject matter experts and program/project managers

•        Provide guidance to less experienced Technical Instructors

•        Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

•        Plan, prepare, and ship, through government transportation, all necessary and required equipment to support training at remote locations and the subsequent return shipping    through government transportation, of all items sent

Education and Experience

•      Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in a relevant technical discipline, with 3-5 years or relevant training experience.  In some cases, education requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience.  Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

•      U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification highly desired

•      Technical Certification such as CompTIA Security+ highly desired

•       Active Secret clearance
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•    Familiarity with the system documentation provided by DISA to include the Procedures for GCCS-M Server Deployment (PGSD), the Trusted Facilities Manual (TFM), and

     Jumpstart Architecture and Security Scripts (JASS) for installation and security of the systems

  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills with ability to create successful hands-on learning experiences for students
  • Ability to quickly learn complex subject matter with the skill to present the material to a live audience
  • Must have the ability to work as a part of a team
  • Wide degree of creativity and self-directed work is required
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%
