Position Summary

The Lead Instructional Developer/Technical Trainer provides the highest level of consulting support for training initiatives. May lead a group of trainers.

Responsibilities

  • Develops highly complex technical courses to meet training needs and delivers to all levels of end-users.
  • Consults with all levels of customer or management on most appropriate methodology to transfer knowledge to the end-user.
  • Conducts training needs assessment, vendor selection and evaluation of training programs making changes to the curriculum and course content as appropriate.
  • Maintains up to date technical resource library.
  • Works closely with customers and subject matter experts to determine and meet end-user requirements.
  • Designs and develops technical instruction; developing highly complex courses.
  • Develops outlines, objectives, graphics, course content, exercises, tests and documentation.
  • Conducts indepth research on highly complex technical concepts to incorporate into course content.
  • Presents material visually and through multimedia programs.
  • Analyzes records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Interfaces with project leaders, subject matter experts, clients, instructional designers, graphic designers, and the application team to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.
  • Conducts research into new training, education, and multimedia technologies.
  • May select and coordinate the activities of external training resources.
  • Leads training efforts and/or provide guidance to less experienced Instructional Developers/Technical Trainers.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum Development, Adult Education, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Information Systems Technologies or Public Administration from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Will have 10 years specialized experience with training, curriculum and training material development of CBRN Doctrine (Ref PWS Para 4.0) along with thorough knowledge and experience with CBRN Hazard Prediction Warning and Reporting, High Fidelity Plume Modeling and Simulation, Emergency Management and Incident Response Operations is required.
  • Experience with joint service acquisition, military structure and command relationships is required or a Master’s degree in Curriculum Development, Adult Education, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Information Systems Technologies or Public Administration from an accredited college or university and (5) years of experience in direct CBRN and Emergency Management.
  • Must have experience with one or more service C2 systems (GCCS-M, CPOF, C2PC, JTCW, BCSS).
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Wide degree of creativity and self-directed work is required.
  • Strong editing skills; attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
