Job Description


Provides support to Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific (SSC PAC) Enterprise Training Activity (SETA) customer. This position is contingent upon contract award and recipt of funding.

Develops complex technical C41-related courses to meet training needs and delivers to end-users. Consults with customer or management on most appropriate methodology to transfer knowledge to the end-user. Conducts training needs assessment, vendor selection and evaluation of training programs making changes to the curriculum and course content as appropriate. Maintains up to date technical resource library.

 Duties and Responsibilities

** Applicant must hold an active Secret clearance **

Works closely with customers and subject matter experts to determine and meet end-user requirements.

Designs and develops technical instruction; developing complex courses.

Develops outlines, objectives, graphics, course content, exercises, tests and documentation.

Conducts in–depth research on technical concepts to incorporate into course content.

Presents material visually and through multimedia programs.

Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.

Interfaces with project leaders, subject matter experts, clients, instructional designers, graphic designers, and the application team to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.

Conducts research into new training, education, and multimedia technologies.

Provides guidance to less experienced Instructional Developers/Technical Trainers.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualified or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Training and Development, computer science, or information systems field or related discipline.  Master's degree preferred. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience.  Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Minimum of 5 years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be specialized experience in developing training material and providing training in formal classroom settings, workshops and seminars. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the training and development field.

An active SECRET clearance is required for this position.

May require additional Information Assurance related certifications such as CompTIA Security +, CISSP etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Must have the ability to work as part of a team.

Wide degree of creativity and self-directed work is required.  

Strong editing skills; attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
