Job Description



Responsibilities/Qualification

The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)'s Office for International Outreach and Policy seeks a candidate with 6 years' of experience with a minimum of 2 years' experience in supporting Department of Defense international programs or U.S. government science and technology (S&T) international offices. The candidate should have experience in providing the below support:

  • Assess and evaluate research documents or products from international S&T organizations (e.g. North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Science and Technology Organization (STO), The Technical Cooperation Program (TTCP), etc.).
  • Plan and execute meeting between senior U.S. leadership and their international counterparts. Support includes developing agendas, develop read ahead material, draft issue papers or presentations, draft decision papers, and/or collect other information relevant to the meeting.
  • Support senior level meetings or workshops attended by senior U.S. leadership and their international counterparts. Support includes capturing comprehensive meeting minutes, capture records of decisions or actions, provide recommendations to senior leadership on various topics specific to the forum (e.g. bilateral exchanges, NATO STO, TTCP, etc.)
  • Draft country papers that capture S&T capabilities of a specified country, identify ongoing collaboration, and identify potential areas for further S&T collaboration.
  • Extract and analysis data from various international databases (e.g. International Agreements Database (IADB), etc.).
  • Work with senior U.S. leadership travel planners to complete foreign travel requirements. Support will include identifying training requirements for the various commands' area of responsibility (AOR), and identify or execute the process to send country and security clearances.
  • Work with the relevant OUSD(R&E) subject matter experts on various technical topics to submit assessments on all S&T international agreements to the OUSD for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)) International Cooperation Office.
  • Act as the conduit between OUSD(R&E) and OUSD(A&S) on various topics to include international agreements such as project arrangements/agreements, memorandums of understanding, etc.
  • Manage content for the International Outreach and Policy Office's SharePoint site and various websites (e.g. TTCP external website, etc.).

Candidate must have:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 years of experience with a minimum of 2 years of DoD international experience or U.S. government S&T international engagement
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrate experience in supporting tasks as outlined above
