Responsibilities/Qualification

 

We are looking for a high energy, experienced, and tech savvy IT/Network Operations Lead who will lead and manage all IT/Network Operations for the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) / Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).  As a member of the leadership team you will oversee all IT/Network operations for enterprise Navy training networks distributed globally to 50 sites and 120 ships.

DUTIES:

This IT/Network Operations Lead will be responsible for overall information technology (IT) and network operations for multiple enterprise networks managed under a single organizational construct.  

-          Establish and administer the overall strategies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of information technology assets

-          Develop budgets/policies/procedures to support information technology and network infrastructure

-          Manage, track, and report IT/network status and metrics to the government clients responsible for the NCTE/NETTN enterprise

-          Managing and tracking equipment to ensure proper baselines are applied and all associated hardware and cabling is shipped to the install location

-          Dispatching personnel to perform systems installs, testing, and SOVT at remote locations

-          Ensuring all configuration management documentation is updated and reflects the current as-built infrastructure

-          Ensuring CCRI/CSI related documentation is developed where needed and reviewed and updated as required

-          Writing detailed policy documents and enterprise standard operating procedures (SOP)

-          Coordinating Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) and Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) IT support at shore based locations throughout the globe

Certifications:  

-          Operating system certification and Security + required

-          Candidates with one or more of the following certifications will be preferred: MSCE, CCNA, CISSP/CEH/CASP, ITIL/CSM, PMP/CAPM

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

-          Required - Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related STEM field
Desired - Advanced degree in Information Technology or related field

Minimum experience:

-          Seven (7) years of information technology experience with DoD efforts

-          Five (5) years of managerial experience with DoD efforts

-          Strong foundation in IT Service Management (ITSM) and implementing ITSM frameworks such as ITIL or CMMI-SVC

-          Foundational knowledge of Cisco Internetworking including IP addressing (subnets, CIDR), switching (VTP, VLANs, 802.1q, IGMP, etc.) and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, PIM, multicast, etc.) and Cisco IOS.

-          Strong knowledge of IP networking fundamentals including OSI model, frame and packet structure, (OSI, frames, packets etc.).

-          Experience in an operations center environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution.

-          Experience with Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guidelines

-          Experience with network and performance monitoring tools (Cisco SLA, What's Up Gold, PRTG).

-          Strong foundation in Windows Servers 2008R2/2012/2016 and Windows desktop operating systems (WIN7 & WIN10 SHB)

-          Experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux 7/8 a plus

-          Experience with VMware a plus

-          Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols a plus

-          Strong technical troubleshooting skills

-          Ability to read and digest technical information

-          Strong attention to detail

-          Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities

-          Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

-          Candidate must meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT Level 2

Must be a US Citizen and currently hold and able to maintain a US Top Secret security clearance.
