Job Description

Candidate will provide enterprise network support at WPAFB for all Microsoft Active Directory components. Will be responsible for building and supporting relationships, connectivity and maintenance of all enterprise architectures, including group policy development, active directory administration, data integrity, account/authentication, automating windows scripting, server implementations, rights, privileges and permissions.  Candidate will be responsible for overall Network, User support and data availability.  Experience working on isolated DOD classified networks will be a plus.  In addition to IT responsibilities, candidate will serve as the facility COMSEC Manager or Alternate COMSEC Manager.  Experience with DoD COMSEC accounts is a plus.

Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum of a SECRET clearance and access commensurate to their involvement with the USG. Candidates will be subject to investigation as required by the NISPOM, ICD 704 processes, DoD Manual 5205.07, Volume 2, and any additional Government Policy or Directives as determined by the Cognizant Security Agency. Candidates may be subject to a polygraph and enhanced security review. Job Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Information Systems.
  • 2-8 years of applied experience specifically with Domain Control, Active Directory and Administration, and Group Policy.
  • Good verbal communication skills and professional presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as a small team or alone as the project dictates.
  • Network hardware SAN and NAS support.
  • Proven track record meeting data availability, backup, recovery and overall uptime.
  • Familiar with physical set up and installation of networks such as running cables.
  • Experience with external classified network connections is a plus.  
  • Day to day working knowledge of windows 2008/2012 server environments, Linux setup and administration and Microsoft office.  Experience with windows 2016 environment is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of High availability, clustering, virtual machines and thin clients.
  • Expert knowledge of hardware configurations.
  • Experience with auditing, scripting and server configuration and preparation.
  • Knowledge and expertise in supporting Microsoft networking protocols as well as day to day working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, cabling, switching and router connectivity
  • Professional user support skills and the ability to quickly respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically and, when needed, occasionally working during nonstandard hours.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct COMSEC account management and COMSEC inspection of all government owned cryptographic voice devices.
  • Initiate, generate key, order, test and verify keys; load key fill devices with appropriate keying material for operational use.
  • Perform duties related to the receipt, custody, issue/distribution, safeguarding, accounting, and when necessary, destruction of classified and non-classified U.S. Government provided COMSEC Type 1 cryptographic devices and keying material (KEYMAT) as well as all COMSEC equipment.
  • Perform routine destruction of COMSEC material when required, or affect other disposition of material as directed by the Central Office of Record (COR) or Controlling Authority. for the maintenance of up-to-date records and the submission of all required accounting reports. 
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the procedures for handling COMSEC material.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. 
  • Must be flexible and willing to quickly adapt to rapidly changing customer requirements. 

Certification or License Requirements: Security +

Diagnostic, analytical and engineering skill sets to support problem solving and innovative solution recommendations. Day to day working knowledge of Windows 2008 & 2012 server environments. Detailed knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory domain administration and Group Policy. Expert knowledge of hardware configurations. Experience with auditing, scripting and server configuration and preparation. Knowledge and expertise in supporting Microsoft networking protocols as well as day to day working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, cabling, switching, and router connectivity. Expert knowledge working with supporting large data SANs and NAS. Intimate knowledge of backup software and hardware, fault-tolerance, replication, data recovery, and deduplication. User support skills and the ability to quickly respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically. Ability to efficiently and accurately diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues. Experience and working knowledge of Linux administration a plus.
