(U) JOB SUMMARY:

Expertise in the areas of scripting, tactics development, operational tests and/or assessments; offensive and defensive cyber operations, and formulation/implementation of improvement initiatives. Conduct and/or direct the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) planning to ensure all objectives can be accomplished yielding meaningful results, including preparing comprehensive project and analysis plans. Direct/conduct analysis efforts to address objectives and document results in reports, briefings, and papers. Provide support to cyber strategic planning, analytical inputs to Air Force instructions and policy, information assurance (IA) TTP documentation for offensive and defensive cyber operations, Real-Time Operations and Innovation (RTOI), and Cyber Network Operations (CNO) capability development.

PRIMARY DUTY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Rapidly validate/disseminate TTPs to correct deficiencies or pursue new/improved TTPs; persistently verify existing TTPs against emerging threats and technologies; facilitate the development of new TTPs based on weapon system modifications to leverage new hardware, software, and operator capabilities.    
  • Analyze emerging Operational and Functional Requirements at the National, Combatant Commands (CCMD) and Numbered Air Force (NAF) levels to support the formulation, development and assessment of doctrine, strategy, plans, concepts of operations, and TTPs in support of multi-domain operations enabling capabilities to cyber operators    
  • Conduct technical analyses and provide an assessment report on the integration of cyber requirements, capabilities and training.    
  • Perform assessments of cyber capabilities and the utility of new and emerging technologies    
  • Implement and document the doctrinal planning process to analyze assigned missions for capability gaps in AFCYBER weapons system capabilities and recommend solutions.    
  • Provide expertise developing plans and procedures in compliance with AF guidance and instructions; perform a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized technology problems, to include integration of processes and/or methodologies to resolve system or technology issues.

Preferred Skills: Metasponse, Confluence, Joint Cyber Tactics Manual, Working knowledge of MITRE Matrix

Education and Experience:
 

  • College Credits toward Computer Science, or related scientific/technical field with three (3) years of experience; or equivalent combination DoD IAT level 2 or higher and applicable certifications (e.g. Security+). Preferred BS in Computer Science or related field with five (5) years of experience
  • Scripting experience to include PowerShell and Python (1-3 years of hands on experience); working knowledge of Python and/or other Scripting. Experience with Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and/or Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO). Tactics improvement proposal (TIP) development/support experience, tactics development initiative process experience.
