Job Description

Alion is seeking a Junior Project Controller to work in and support a team of project controllers in Norfolk, VA.

In this position you will:

Participate in the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of performance on projects of varying contract size, complexity, and level of risk. Works directly with the Program Manager in providing cost, schedule, funding planning, reporting, monitoring, and analysis support, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and time-phased budgets and schedules. Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and ensures revenue and profit are recorded in compliance with the EAC. Monitors cost, manpower, and funding status. Prepare financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRL) and ensures requirements are met. Adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as related to contract performance and finances. May provide guidance or work leadership to less experienced Project Controllers.

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field.  
  • 2+ years of Program Control or related experience is preferred.
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience
  • Expertise in Excel and overall MS Office suite and a working knowledge of relevant software applications, including JAMIS and others.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
  • Mus have familiarity with multiple government contract types, such as FFP, FPI, FPLOE, T&M, CPAF, CPFF, CPIF, and hybrid.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and levels of an organization.
  • Attention to detail, self starter, ability to organize and prioritize work.
