Job Description

Alion’s expertise in wireless communication is unrivaled.  This includes 50+ years’ of experience performing complex RF Engineering analysis for DoD customers, civilian government agencies, and commercial companies worldwide.  Our expertise in collecting, analyzing, and formatting spectrum data, including RF measurement, frequency assignment, spectrum certification, LiDAR, and other geo-referenced data, enables us to produce refined RF modeling and simulation tools and applications with the reliability and precision needed to assure spectrum access and control.  Alion’s analysis-driven tools support diverse tasks such as spectrum forensics and deconfliction, testing for coverage amid urban clutter, and antenna site planning.  Alion's Radio Frequency and Electromagnetic Spectrum Engineering Directorate (RESED) offers a variety of work, from projects supporting international satellite coordination to countering IEDs.  Our work is increasingly important in a world that depends on well-coordinated, interference-free spectrum access.

Responsibilities:  

In support of the Department of Navy, Chief Information Office

  • Work with Navy senior leadership in development of overall enterprise vision, roadmap, and implementation strategy
  • Presents alternative solutions to Navy senior leadership in solving a specific business problem or enabling customer value.
  • Engaging stakeholders to understand their business and technical needs.
  • Collaborating with project teams to engineer appropriate and viable solutions..
  • Creation of applicable documentation and diagrams to effectively illustrate proposed solution architecture.
  • Identification and Documentation of as-is and to-be architectures.
  • Creation of Technology Roadmaps.
  • Support development of new standards, stated directions, and guidelines.
  • Presentation of engineered solutions with a focus on articulating how each aspect of the solution directly relates to solving the clients technical or business needs.
  • Thorough documentation of all engineered solutions, including application to customer technical requirements, and customer expectations to help ensure successful implementation.
  • Serves as a top level technical or functional expert for the enterprise.
  • Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
  • Assess and provide recommendations on new technologies and techniques.
  • Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
  • Able to operate across multiple projects to enable synergies and cost savings from both an application, infrastructure, data and security perspective.
    The lead shall have the following experience and qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise architecture and business architecture
  • Extensive knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of cyber security and risk management
  • Certification or degree in enterprise architecture (e.g., Certified Enterprise Architect, Associate Certified Enterprise Architect (ACEA), graduate certificate, etc.) highly desirable
  • Active TS clearance security with SCI eligibility highly desirable
