Job Description



Responsibilities/Qualification

Program and technical lead for a Navy Gun Weapon (GWS) System program

Coordinates and supports activities for the procurement, assembly, testing, and delivery as well as technical and field support of the gun weapon system.

Supports the management of major projects, products, and organizations related to the GWS and its vendors.

Provides data analysis and subject matter expertise to engineering teams that execute acquisition, procurement, software development, and life cycle sustainment.

Leads the analysis and evaluations of programs or projects to provide program and project managers information to be used in planning, monitoring, and resource allocation to include financial and contractual data. 

Develops plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements.

  • Develops and tracks contract milestones and procurement plans
  • Reviews requests, analyzes requirements, and recommends revisions to statements of work or specifications
  • Develops briefing and reporting templates for program management and technical issues
  • Produces high-level reports or presentations for program leadership
  • Coordinates with associated field activities
  • Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties
  • Performs schedule risks assessments to identify and mitigate program/project cost and scheduling risks.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 8 to 10 years of directly related experience in technical program planning, administration, budgets, and development.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 12 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Department of Defense Acquisition knowledge and experience desired.

Knowledge of Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) and other DoD procurement policies and procedures.

Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Strong knowledge of USN fleet operations desired

Secret security clearance required.
