Position Summary:

The Lead Integration and Test Engineer will be responsible for Integration and Test engineering for a multi-hundred million dollar, 5-year, complex Ground Combat Vehicle Virtual Simulator Modernization program. The Lead Integration and Test Engineer will direct and supervise all Integration and Test engineering activities of the Modernization program, and manage the Integration and Test engineering staff, employees, and subcontractors.  He/she will be a direct report to the Chief Systems Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the integration of system hardware and software. Responsible for all integrated testing and system test procedures and events for each hardware and software subsystem and the overall system. Oversees software configuration tracking, change tracking, and Problem Trouble Report (PTR) tracking for all development. Plans, coordinates, establishes and implements a comprehensive test and evaluation program to validate that the system performs in accordance with the requirements, using formalized test procedures.

Establishes and maintains traceability between system requirements and all test activities. Develops step-by-step test operations. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Provides expert judgment on the fundamentals and principles of professional engineering, computer hardware, systems software, and integration. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.



Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

- Master's Degree in a related area and 10-12 years experience in the field.  In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

- Prior Lead or Senior Integration and Test Engineer experience on a US Department of Defense (DoD) product development and production contract. Contracts valued at $50M in Total Contract Value or higher preferred.

- Experience with Army training systems and/or PEO STRI programs is preferred.

Security Clearance:

Must currently hold and be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement.

Key Skills and Attributes:

- Knowledge of current modeling and simulation principles, techniques, processes, regulations, and policies.

- Ability to execute complex, multi-faceted projects within time constraints.

- Experience with simulations, simulators, training, and instrumentation systems required to support complex military equipment or systems.

- Expertise with industry standard configuration, change, and PTR tracking techniques and software tools.

- Experience developing and executing test processes, procedures and milestone events.

- Experience working with Government testers and validators, to include active duty soldier subject matter experts.

- Experience leading and directing the work of others.

- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

- Knowledge of DoD software acquisition and software development methodologies and processes.

- Knowledge of software requirements analysis and design methodologies, software metrics, software reuse, software documentation, and independent verification and validation (IV&V) criteria.

- Ability to develop and review test plans, procedures, test support requirements, test scenarios, test data, test support equipment, and software test databases as related to a simulation system being supported.
