Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

Leads the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure effective and economical support for manufacturing or servicing of products, equipment, and systems. Includes the gathering and analysis of information on highly complex product plans and project objectives, providing tracking and status reports, and support for ensuring distribution and delivery commitments. Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for C-5 Loading Systems and other systems as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes highly complex contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports to determine requirements. Investigate nonconforming technical assistance/waiver requests by analyzing C-5 Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) and Major Isochronal Maintenance (ISO) AFMC Form 202 data and field-level T.O. 00-25-107 data for specific trends, analysis, solution development, and recommendations.

  • Develop logistics plans for facilities, personnel, equipment, spares and maintenance. Researches and develops policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Assess and recommend the feasibility of proposed approaches to solve complex problems. Provide support for drawing revisions to obtain approval through the Engineering Data Management Office (EDMO) for JEDMICS entry shall be provided.
  • Prepare and present reports, studies, cost analyses, and briefings to staff and customers as needed.
  • Lead technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the customer.
  • Research logistics technology advances and applies appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.
  • Participate in writing proposals calling for logistics expertise.
  • Identify and resolve highly complex logistics issues.
  • Provides work leadership to less experienced Logistics Analysts.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. If required, SME may be redirected to support other various USAF C-5 critical issues by the C-5 SPO leadership.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus at least 8 years of directly related experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by 
market survey data.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
