Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

An experienced ordnance logistician with knowledge of the DoD Ordnance Information System, you will help manage program office support of the inventory of surface ship ordnance and government-owned material at manufacturers, government field activities, and weapons stations. Support audit readiness by developing site visit plans, coordinating with sites to be visited, conducting or witnessing physical inventories, and reporting results to the government lead. Recent or transitioning military welcome including Navy Aviation Ordnanceman and Gunner’s Mate ratings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with the planning and conduct of Naval Ordnance and government furnished material inventories and audits.

Verifies OIS data through physical inventory.

Assists with assessing, developing, or revising processes to ensure audit readiness at multiple sites.

Analyzes contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, and related reports. Assesses and recommends the feasibility of proposed approaches to solve complex problems.

Develops logistics plans for facilities, personnel, equipment, spares and maintenance. Researches and develops policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.

Prepares and presents reports, studies, and briefings as needed. Leads technical discussions. Identifies and resolves complex logistics issues.

Provides leadership to less experienced Logistics Analysts.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the Ordnance Information System (OIS) highly desired.

Military, contractor, or government logistics experience required, particularly in the area of Naval ordnance and weapons systems.  

Ability to work independently.

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus at least 6 years of directly related experience.

Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for significant directly applicable military experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or directly applicable military experience.

A secret security clearance within the last two years is required.
