Job Description

The candidate will provide project integration support to the Human Landing Systems (HLS) Project Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Providing Project Management support to the HLS Project thru the lifecycle of design, development, manufacturing, verification & validation and flight.  Develop and support the approach and execution of Key Decision Points (KPD) like System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), etc., as defined by NASA Program Requirements (NPR) 7120.5 Project Management Processes. The ideal candidate will develop the review processes, coordinate and schedule review teams, develop and track review findings, coordinate across NASA Centers and with the Mission Directorate.

This position requires a working knowledge on Program Planning and Control (PPC) products and services used thru the HLS project lifecycle.  These include scheduling, risk management, estimating, budget formulation, compliance with Engineering and Project requirements, development of decision packages and presentations to both internal and external customers.

Other duties can include developing SharePoint databases for requirements tracking, various forms of project requirements, HLS data control, review findings and action items, develop and maintain project management plan and other governing documents as required

Interface with management to identify areas of required support, including participation in management meetings, participation in evaluation teams, and development of presentations (i.e., Program Overviews, and Monthly/Quarterly Performance Reports).

Support and provide leadership to board functions such as the Project Control Board and other boards developed through the project life cycle

Support the development of program-level status and process information for Program Reviews

Requirements:

BS degree and a minimum of 9 years of program/project experience. Prior NASA experience is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including SharePoint and SharePoint Administration, Microsoft Project experience is desired.

Experience working in program office executive level organization and integrating across multiple projects, government agencies or contractors. Experience NASA or similar agencies is desired.

Must be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills.

Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of an organization.

U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation is required.

Essential Functions

Work Environment- Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines- Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

Other Essential Functions- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
