Position Summary

As a Lead Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for performing full life cycle recruiting efforts. The role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about people and seeks the thrill and fulfillment of matching great talent with great opportunities.  Communication, collaboration and coordination will be key to your success in this role.

Being a strategic recruiting business partner with your hiring managers, you will assess hiring and business needs to successfully fill job openings in a timely manner.  You will also help to advise managers on policies and procedures as necessary.

Using a variety of recruiting sources, you will post job openings, source resumes from internal and external websites, utilize social media and various advertisement options, identify qualified candidates, schedule interviews, provide benefit information, negotiate salary offers and extend employment offers.

Other duties will include providing weekly recruiting status reports to management; attending and participating in regular Talent Acquisition meetings to discuss recruiting issues and updates; managing applicant profiles in HRIS system; and other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, plus at least 8 years of full life cycle recruiting experience working in a government contracting environment. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for equivalent work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems required; prior use of PeopleSoft HRIS is highly preferred. 
  • Ideal candidate should have experience in hiring primarily for Navy and/or Information Technology related contracts.
  • Experience using a wide variety of recruiting sources including but not limited to the following: Internet recruiting, employee referrals, social networks, job fairs, college career fairs, open house events, advertisements, etc. Training or experience specifically utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, Hiretual, Facebook, and GitHub is a plus.
  • Experience hiring transitioning military, information technology professionals, and engineers is highly preferred.
  • Staffing agency industry experience and/or working to manage staffing agency support is highly preferred.
  • Corporate or executive recruitments and contract proposal support experience is a plus.
  • Experience with recruiting data analytics is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to interact with managers at all levels in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment laws, such as OFCCP, FLSA, Revolving Door, ADA, etc.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency, working independently or in a team environment.


  • Active DoD Secret clearance preferred, but not required.  Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance required.
