Job Description



This position is contingent up on contract award.

Provides Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) and comprehensive test and evaluation (T&E) of Amphibious Assault Ships and Landing Craft. Supports the LFT&E Management Plan, Survivability Assessment Report (SAR), Vulnerability Assessment Report (VAR), and Total Ship Survivability Testing (TSST).  Assists in test development, execution, and scheduling.  

Required Education and Experience: 

  • A Top Secret Security Clearance is required for employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus at least 8 years of directly related LFT&E experience or a Master’s degree and 6 years of LFT&E experience.  In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable LFT&E work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
  • DoD LFT&E experience is required. 
  • Project management experience is required. 
  • This work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair and/or underway trials.  Walking and climbing throughout the ship, in order to accomplish ship checks, will be required.  Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment. Candidates must be able to perform these functions as required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Must be able to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook E-mail, Access and Project), Adobe Acrobat, and Windows Explorer.  
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering is required. 

Desired Experience: 

  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Amphibious warship ship and/or craft construction or repair work and T&E experience is ideal.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act of 1990 (DAWIA) Certification is a plus, but is not required.
