Job Description


Under immediate supervision, assists in developing and implementing policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure effective and economical support for manufacturing or servicing of products, equipment, and systems. Includes the gathering and analysis of information on product plans and project objectives, providing tracking and status reports, and support for ensuring distribution and delivery commitments.

Assists with analyzing contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports to determine requirements.

Develops logistics plans for facilities, personnel, equipment, spares and maintenance. Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.

Assesses and recommends the feasibility of proposed approaches to solve problems of limited complexity.

Drafts reports, studies, and cost analyses for staff and customers as needed.

Participates in technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the customer.

Researches logistics technology advances and applies appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.

Identifies and resolves logistics issues of limited complexity.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • All personnel assigned to this contract must be able to work in confined spaces onboard submarines and have the ability to lift 50lbs. The contractor shall provide ILO support necessary to accomplish the functions outlined to include but not limited to:
    1. Provide configuration reviews to ensure that installed systems/equipment are accurately recorded in the Department of Navy’s (DoN) master configuration database.
    2. Perform Technical Manual Reviews to ensure appropriate technical documentation is onboard to support the maintenance of installed systems/equipment.
    3. Perform Repair Part reviews to ensure all repair parts are onboard to support current ship's configuration.
    4. Conduct Post Availability Logistics Support (PALS) and ensure that the ship’s database contains the configuration changes that occurred during availability and that it is safe to proceed with re-allowancing options.
    5. Conduct Automated Shore Interface (ASI), Onboard Repair Part (OBRP) and obsolete/excess material offloads to ensure correct required material is available onboard for all applicable equipment currently onboard.
    6. Provide technical manual and configuration verification support during assessments and functional system checks.
    7. ILO provides the following fleet support above CORE support:
      • Submarine Supply Officer training and mentoring
      • Leading Logistic Specialists mentoring
      • Virginia Class Submarine Stowage Team member
      • Virginia Class submarine Post Shakedown availability support
      • New London Base PATRIOT on site expertise
      • RSUP/OMMS waterfront support technical assist and training
      • RSUP analysis including POA&Ms
      • COSAL Maintenance Assist and training
      • Supply Management Assessment training and assistance
      • XMAMs implementation and monitoring
      • Configuration Validations and management
      • Excess Material Offload printing services and manpower
      • Repair Part identification
      • Technical Manual Support (acquisition)
      • Temporary Off Hull Stowage
      • Excess repair part temporary stowage and monitoring
      • Screening of trial reorders for free issues
      • Emergency RAGs as tasked by NAVSEA or TYCOM
      • Temporary Warehousing for outside activities, i.e CWITT, NWSA, NAVSEA, PMS450

Provide forklift and transportation assistance to fleet units

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
