Job Description

Position Summary

Develops and implements policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure effective and economical support for manufacturing or servicing of products, equipment, and systems. Includes the gathering and analysis of information on complex product plans and project objectives, providing tracking and status reports, and support for ensuring distribution and delivery commitments.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide acquisition logistic support including sustainability, reliability, maintainability, and availability of the system's components.
  • Provide support to the logistics function preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.
  • Analyze, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs. Reviews contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.
  • Identify, prioritizes, and assesses key logistics assets and infrastructures.
  • Conduct distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times. Generally requires knowledge of the Federal Supply System as well as automated and manual supply systems and equipment serviceability standards and criteria.
  • Has knowledge of computers and associated networks. Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors. Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support. Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software. Diagnoses reported hardware, software, and network problems. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus at least 2 years of directly related experience.
  • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by  market survey data.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
