Job Description




  • Performs the measurement, calculation, and precision machining of complex parts
  • Interprets and adheres to currently released drawing configurations and identifies drawing discrepancies
  • Supports the machining and design of prototype parts and assemblies to include providing reasonable labor estimates and defining process inspection points for the development of master routing travelers
  • Understands and applies basic math skills and follows basic instructions and guidelines
  • Negotiates and integrate different viewpoints on complex issues, collaborates in a team environment and understand sequence of operations or actions to be taken. Employees must be able to wear a respirator and other safety gear
  • Maintains a clean and safe working area at all times
  • Identifies tooling, supplies, and resources needed in order to maintain a serviceable working area
  • Performs maintenance as required on all tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Identifies defective tools and equipment and removes them from usage


  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of machine operation and/or programming experience.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other applicable safety gear.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U. S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Must be capable of becoming respirator certified (including passing the respirator physical examination) to support the basic tasks associated with applying painted coatings
  • Preferred to have both manual and Numerical Control (NC) machining capabilities, NC Mill and NC Lathe Mandatory

  • Must be able to specify tooling for the machine shop and for the machine job, and source required tooling to a purchasing agent

  • Must be able to perform standard shop and machine maintenance

  • Must be able to lift items up to (50) pounds

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings conforming to ASME Y14

  • Must be able to perform QA measurements on work produced and check parts against DRAWING
  • Must be able to code (program) in to NC machine from solid model format
  • Familiarity with machining: steel, stainless, titanium, Delrin, G10 fiberglass
  • Should be able to list requirements in a change over from steel to G10 fiber glass, understanding the need for vacuum and tool cooling on fiberglass work.
