Opportunity/Key Responsibilities

Alion Science and Technology Corporation is searching for a Synthetic Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Advanced Modeling and Simulation Technology Operation (AMSTO). The Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) West Coast Range Executive Agent representative is the primary customer seeking subject matter expertise in the area of synthetic training.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide current synthetic training capabilities input to CNAF for a complete Live, Virtual, Constructive capability and possible future investment opportunities to expand and integrate fleet training. Input will be in the form of briefings, white papers, and participation in meetings and conferences at the tasking of CNAF.
  • Assess training effectiveness of LVC usage and provide feedback to CNAF. This will include collaboration with Naval Aviation Distributed Training Centers Pacific and Atlantic.
  • Provide an assessment and recommended prioritization of LVC investments including operational effectiveness impacts.
  • Support Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process specific to Fleet Training Wholeness.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science,  Systems Engineering, Mathematics or related field, and ten plus years of directly related experience in Fleet synthetic training. These requirements may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Military experience with a focus on Naval aviation and training from trainer and trainee perspectives.

Fleet-wide training program exposure with community reputation.

Excellent communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills are required.

The ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed, is required.

Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance is required.

Must have technical competency with Live, Virtual and Constructive technologies and applications, Navy training programs and processes, excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation, and effective organizational skills.
