Job Description

The Joint Staff J7 Deputy Directorate Joint Training (JS J7 DDJT) is an integral part of the Joint Staff. JS J7 DDJT provides joint capability, material development, and maintenance support to the Joint training environment supporting all elements of the Joint Force. The DDJT primarily supports the Joint Training Enterprise with common integrated force development capabilities enabling Joint Training. The Joint Training Enterprise includes combatant commands (CCMDs), Services, agencies, academia, industry, and multinational partners in addressing joint warfighting and other challenges. One of the key components of the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) is the legacy Joint, Live, Virtual, Constructive (JLVC) simulation federation, a combination of Service, agency, functional, and management applications linked to enable operations and data exchange between simulations regardless of their computing platforms.

The JTT reflects a modernization effort to shift from monolithic stove-piped training systems to a training environment developed using the development approach for modular, open systems architecture as described in the DoD Open System Architecture Contract Guidebook for Program Managers. This approach uses commercial web-based technology, open source software to the maximum extent possible, and recognized technical standards.

The JTSE-Alion Contract Support Team provides management and development expertise to the JS J7 DDJT JTSE modernization efforts by sustaining JLVC and developing the JTT system.
