Job Description

The Mission Engineering Analyst Associate is a member of the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Mission Engineering Division (MED) engineering staff and provides direct support to the MED Lead. The Mission Engineering Division provides engineering support to field operations, event operations and recently deployed solutions for the Navy’s Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Mission Engineering Analyst Associate has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with MED members to maintain event schedules
  • Assigns engineers to events based on event requirements and individual skillsets and qualifications with advisement from MED leads
  • Coordinates schedule with operations department and ensures appropriate technical lead assignment to operation training events.
  • Analyzes division work activities in order to prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the government and other agencies.
  • Executes divisional reporting process and produces weekly data products that support engineering level briefings to government leadership.
  • Ensures divisional compliance with external government training requirements and assists the division lead in managing and executing the technical training requirements within the division
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of divisional standard operational procedures (SOPs) and assists the division lead in validating compliance.
  • Drafts general correspondence and prepares miscellaneous presentations.
  • Maintains records, information, data and other metrics on department activities and may monitor project schedules for management.
  • Validates time records for division employees
  • Creates and submits Scientific and Technical Information (STI) through JIRA
  • Improves divisional processes by revising and/or updating divisional documentations as necessary

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience and 0-2 years related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skillset; must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical abilities; detailed oriented
  • Experience working within a collaborative website and issue tracking environment such as Atlassian Confluence and JIRA.  Should be familiar with various concepts and how to perform basic to intermediate functions to support maintenance of division pages.


Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
