Job Description



The position entails full-ship design and acquisition support as well as ship modifications and alterations.  The successful candidate must be goal oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.  Duties will vary from project to project depending on the specific project requirements thus providing a diverse and challenging work environment and an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture.   7-10 years experience in ship design disciplines with at least a working knowledge and familiarity of:

structures, hydrodynamics, weights and stability, speed and powering, hull form design, arrangements, manning, vibration, damage control, and survivability. 

Experience should include familiarity with and use of U.S. Navy and MIL Specifications related to ship design, classification society rules, and professional society guidance and specifications. 

A familiarity with 2-D and 3-D CAD software and the common Naval Architecture design software programs is desired.  Also finite elements modeling and simulation experience and familiarity with finite element software systems is desired.

A Master’s degree in Naval Architecture is preferred, but not required. 

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
