Job Description

Navy Maritime Operations Center Event Support Team Technical Lead

The technical lead is a member of the Navy MOC EST team in support of Operational Level COCOM and Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Training.  The Tech Lead Analyst/Team Lead is directly responsible to the M&S OPS Director for program requirement definition inputs; schedule and resource coordination/de-confliction; allocation of FST-O resources across assigned COCOM events; standardization of exercise processes and procedures; fleet customer planning engagement; and oversight of the assigned exercise event planning, preparation, and execution.

  • Manage all aspects of event planning and technical integration to include integration and operation of distributed simulation systems, networks, C4I systems, related infrastructure and interfaces, and MSEL/Scenario development required to support Joint and Navy training.
  • Routine coordination with Joint Staff, USFF MOC Training Team, USN MOC operations sites, USFF MOC Support Team and with NCTE Operations teams for planning, systems and network support.
  • Provide advice in all aspects of M&S technologies and interfaces and coordinate their use in CCMD, and Navy Fleet level training events.
  • Experience in FST or COCOM Exercise programs a plus.
  • JSAF, GCCS, LINK, other simulation systems required
  • Operational planning experience a plus
  • VMWare Virtualization as well as System Administrator experience a plus
  • NCTE/JTEN and simulation experience a plus
  • Able to work proactively with little direction
  • Good organizational skills
  • Skilled on Microsoft Office (to include Visio and Project) products
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Experience interfacing with senior management
  • Ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions                                                                     
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, plus 8 or more years of relevant experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
