Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Summary

Provides subject matter expertise in GSI-191 resolution methodology.

Provides subject matter expertise in Palisades Nuclear Generating Station post-LOCA Emergency Core Cooling System operation.

Provides subject matter expertise in Palisades Nuclear Generating Station physical configuration, based on firsthand experience during construction and start-up.

Ability to review information and provide advisory comments related to design inputs for analyses and testing that is designed to achieve a resolution of GSI-191 at Palisades Nuclear Generating Station.

Duties and Responsibilities

On an as-requested basis, reporting to the Project Manager or Project Engineer, provides advisory technical review of, and written (e.g., email) commentary on, information related to post-LOCA operation of the Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) at Palisades Nuclear Generating Station.

Perform work on a self-directed basis in accordance with written (email) work requests from the Project Manager or Project Engineer.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in nuclear engineering plus 12 or more years of relevant work experience. Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent based on commercial nuclear power plant systems operation, primarily focused on ECCS.

30+ years of Palisades¿unique experience.

Involvement with Palisades’ GSI¿191 resolution efforts since the beginnings of the program.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Extensive knowledge of unique aspects of the Palisades plant design.

Extensive knowledge and experience in development of analytical reports related to challenges to ECCS sump strainer operation.

Ability to apply firsthand knowledge of original plant construction in reviewing and providing advisory commentary on information that may be used as design inputs for analyses or testing designed to resolve the GSI-191 issue at Palisades Nuclear Generating Station.

A security clearance of an appropriate level may be required after employment.
