Responsibilities/Qualification

Position Description:

Alion Science and Technology is seeking a Logistician in support of On the Move (OTM) research and development activities performed at SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific (SSC PAC) and based out of Stafford/Quantico. The Logistician will reconcile logistics data with the warfighter, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), government development labs and other service agencies, and Logistics Command (LOGCOM). Specifically, the selected candidate will coordinate with OEM vendors and government on the shipment, inventory tracking, and management of shipped components as well as managing warranty and End of Life (EOL) of SSC PAC procured components in support of Marine Corps Systems Commend (MCSC) OTM capabilities.

The Logistician will work closely with government logisticians to review required statutory, regulatory, and MCSC-specific life cycle logistics documentation requiring SSC PAC government customer review. Additionally, the selected candidate will draft and/or review New Equipment Training materials from engineering documentation for new and emerging technology insertions as well as refresh of training due to engineering changes to the system. The logistician will monitor logistics reporting systems and reports and identify upcoming or existing deficiencies to the SSC PAC engineering lead for development of mitigation strategies. The requirements include the gathering and analysis of information on highly complex product plans and project objectives, providing tracking and status reports, and support for ensuring distribution and delivery commitments.

The position also includes: Researching and developing policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control; preparing and presenting reports, studies, cost analyses, and briefings to staff and customers as needed; leading technical discussions at project review sessions and with the customer; and researching logistics technology advances and applying appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes.

The selected candidate will perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

The selected candidate may travel up to 20% of the time depending on program requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Five (5) to Ten (10) years’ of professional experience, to include at least three (3) years’ of experience in a program office, government lab or similar organization, are required.
• AA Degree from an accredited college/university.

• Ability to obtain or in possession of an active Secret Clearance
• Must be well versed in the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Power Point
• Experience with Marine Corps System Approach to Training processes

• Excellent oral and written skills 

Desired Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related discipline

• Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level II certification in Life Cycle Logistics (LCL)
• Expert knowledge of the DoD 5000 acquisition process
• MS Project experience

US Service Veteran preferred.
