Responsibilities/Qualification

 
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in general military intelligence disciplines. 

  • Minimum of three years’ experience with Microsoft Office Tools Suite, internet relay chat, and analytical research techniques (Boolean queries).

  • Open Source (OS) 1 training and Introduction to Middle East Cultural Study (Computer Based Training  Course) required.  If not completed previously, must be completed three months after employment start. Cost will be covered by USAFCENT.

Security Clearance

 

United States Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia. This position supports USAFCENT/Intelligence Directorate (A2).

Operations Intelligence Support ensures 24/7 hour manning for the USAFCENT/A2 Watch to provide 365-day situational awareness of significant activity in USCENTCOM AOR/AOI. Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Monitor internet relay chat to maintain situational awareness of events in the USCENTCOM AOR.

  • Continually review products available via message dissemination tools and websites for significant activity and items of interest.

  • Maintain situational awareness of air operations & strikes while maintaining a log of significant events.

  • Assist in maintaining orders of battle, target displays and various databases.

  • Report significant activity through USAFCENT/A2 as required by standard operating procedures (SOP).

  • Provide a daily written executive summary of significant overnight events in USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) or Areas of Interest (AOI) to the USAFCENT/A2.

  • Provide daily verbal brief covering key events/items of interest in the USAFCENT AOR/AOI.

  • Maintain multiple trackers and ongoing production elements on multiple classified network systems independently and provide assessments to USAFCENT/A2 of on-going incidents when requested.

  • Obtain training from USAFCENT/A2 to perform as a data transfer agent.
