This position supports an intelligence community customer storage site with a staff of between 20 - 30 made up of both government employees and contractors.  The site receives equipment from contractors, conducts test and inspection activities on new equipment, on equipment being prepared for issue and on equipment returned after use.  Other technical staff build equipment components that support unique equipment configuration requirements.

PCB assembly technician whose responsibilities would include, but not necessarily be limited to:

  • Set-up, inspection and troubleshooting of pick and place machines
  • Operation of screen printers and reflow ovens used in production
  • Operation/maintenance of wave solder machine
  • Routine and repetitive production tasks in compliance with quality standards
  • Programming and operation of dispensing machines
  • Daily maintenance on assigned SMT tools, stencils, feeder support pins and equipment
  • Inspection of all stencils for form, fit and function as it relates to PCB assembly and the screen printer  
  • Programming SMT Pick and Place Machine using supplied BOM and XY DATA
  • Use of inspection tools, such as 3D SPI, X-ray and AOI, to verify quality.  Use test equipment during and after assembly to verify quality.
  • Provide all machine maintenance and troubleshooting 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 3+ years in PCB assembly and 5+ years’ experience performing SMT programming/maintenance
  • Experience performing SMT assembly equipment programming with Universal equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand component packages and programs on the SMT machine
  • Experience setting up SMT line, including screen printer, SMT machines and reflow oven
  • Demonstrated ability to identify all types of SMD packages (i.e. 0402, 0603 etc).
  • Must be able to read the BOM and set up list.  Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Must have general electronic circuit and component knowledge
  • Wire harness fabrication and documentation experience
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and/or production equipment
  • Hands-on electro-mechanical skills
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, multi-tasking, team oriented environment
  • The incumbent must be able to read, write and understand documentation and training written/delivered in the English language
  • Through-hole assembly equipment, wave solder, conformal coat and machine ship experience
  • ASEE, ASIE, AME or relevant technical certificate
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to use Altium for PCB design a plus
  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PCBs to component level a plus.
  • TS Clearance with current or recent access to SCI and CI polygraph is required.
